Pakistan Single Window Enables Remote Biometric Verification via Nadra’s PakID App

The Pakistan Single Window (PSW) has introduced a new digital facility that allows eligible users to complete mandatory biometric verification remotely through the National Database and Registration Authority’s (Nadra) PakID mobile application.

The integration is aimed at making PSW services more convenient by removing the need for users to physically visit a Nadra e-Sahulat Centre for certain verification requirements.

Biometric Verification Now Available Remotely

Under the new system, PSW users can complete biometric verification through their smartphones when subscribing to the platform, renewing their subscription or updating their profiles.

Previously, users were required to appear in person at a Nadra e-Sahulat Centre to complete this part of the process. With the PakID integration, eligible users can now complete the verification remotely, subject to Nadra’s applicable requirements.

Convenience for Overseas Pakistanis

The development could be particularly useful for overseas Pakistanis who conduct trade-related activities in Pakistan. Eligible users abroad can complete their required PSW biometric verification through the PakID app instead of making a physical trip to Pakistan solely for this purpose.

This is significant for businesses and individuals who need to maintain or update their PSW profiles while living outside the country.

Both Verification Options Available During Transition

During the interim period, PSW users will continue to have both options available. They can either complete the verification digitally through the PakID Mobile App or visit a Nadra e-Sahulat Centre in person.

The dual-channel approach is intended to provide flexibility while users become familiar with the new digital process.

Moving Towards Fully Digital PSW Services

According to PSW CEO Syed Aftab Haider, the integration responds to feedback from PSW users in Pakistan and overseas. PSW says the new facility removes the only physical visit previously required during its subscription process, allowing the entire onboarding procedure to be completed digitally.

The move is part of broader efforts to expand digital services, simplify business procedures and improve accessibility for users.

Nadra has also been expanding digital biometric services through the PakID ecosystem. Earlier in 2026, the authority introduced legally recognised facial and iris-based biometric verification options alongside fingerprint-based methods in relevant services.

What This Means for Users

The PSW-PakID integration could make several routine processes easier by reducing physical visits and allowing eligible users to complete verification using a smartphone.

For businesses, exporters, traders and overseas Pakistanis, the development represents another step toward a more digitally accessible trade and registration environment in Pakistan.

As digital identity and verification services continue to expand, more government and business-related processes could potentially be completed remotely, reducing paperwork and the need for in-person visits.
