OPPO is preparing to roll out its next major software update, ColorOS 17, with the stable release set to begin on October 8, 2026. The update is based on Android 17 and introduces a refreshed design, performance improvements and new AI-powered features.
However, there is an important detail for OPPO users outside China: the October 8 schedule is currently the company’s China rollout plan, and a confirmed global release timeline has not yet been announced.
The first wave focuses on OPPO’s newest flagship phones and foldables. Starting October 8, the following models are scheduled for the update in China:
The second major OPPO wave begins on October 16, covering the Find N5 and Find X8 series, along with the OPPO Pad 5 Pro and Pad Mini.
The ColorOS 17 rollout will continue throughout the final months of 2026. OPPO has scheduled the Reno 16 and Reno 16 Pro for October 22 in China.
A larger batch is planned for November 26, including models such as the Find N3 series, Find X7 series, Reno 15 series, Reno 14 series and K15 series. Several OPPO tablets and the Watch S are also included.
Older supported models are expected to follow in later batches, extending into December and the first quarter of 2027.
ColorOS 17 brings a redesigned Fluid Design interface, with changes to animations, visual effects and the overall system experience.
OPPO is also highlighting improvements to performance and AI capabilities. The update includes new AI-focused tools, including improvements to photo editing and AI Notes, while the company’s new rendering and system technologies are designed to improve app performance and background stability.
For Pakistani users, the October 8 date should not automatically be treated as the update date for locally sold phones. OPPO’s published schedule is for the Chinese market, and global markets can receive software at different times depending on the model and region.
Therefore, if you own an OPPO phone in Pakistan, it is better to wait for OPPO’s regional rollout announcement rather than assuming the China date applies to your device.
Another important point is that the dates represent the start of each rollout batch, rather than a guarantee that every phone in that batch will receive the update on that exact day.
OPPO can distribute updates gradually, and the schedule may change depending on software testing, device variants and regional requirements.
For OPPO owners, the key question is therefore not just whether their phone appears on the list, but also when ColorOS 17 will be released for their specific region and variant.
As OPPO expands the rollout, more devices are expected to join the ColorOS 17 lineup through the end of 2026 and into 2027.
